Day 2 of framing

Things are starting to take shape.  When you walk through it you can see where the rooms are now.  A few small things that aren't right.  Mostly stuff we changed and it looks like the crew didn't get the message.

There's supposed to be a window here.  Not really sure why they missed that, but it won't be hard to fix.

The plumbing for the sink shouldn't be here.  We moved it and they put it in the original spot.  Looks like we'll be cracking the slab.

Here's a shot of the front entrance.

The garage bays.

  1. :) ... I like that they missed the window and put plumbing in the wrong place. This must be a common thing, as the same thing happened on our construction.

They missed 1 window, put 1 in the wrong place and forgot plumbing for 1 sink ... on yeah, and a few more.

They seem to be making very good progress though ...

  2. What will your ceiling height be? Are the doors taller than normal?

  3. It varies. The plan called for 11 ft ceiling in entry and great room, he said it would be lowered to 9. It looks taller though... I guess if the framers didn't get that change I won't be upset. Most of the other ceilings will be 9 except the dining will be 11 and the master will be 9/10 ft tray ceiling. I really can't tell for sure that the plumbing is in the wrong spot, it may be right since the vent would have to run up the wall to the roof. I guess we will see!
